Everything you need to know about scar therapy, massage, and booking

Scar therapy is a gentle, hands-on treatment that helps to improve the appearance of your scar, reduce pain and tightness, and break down scar tissue build-up. It can be used on scars from C-sections, hysterectomies, and other abdominal surgeries. The treatment helps you not only physically but also emotionally — reconnecting with your body in a safe, supportive environment.

Treatment can begin as soon as your scar is fully healed — typically around 6–8 weeks post-surgery. However, it's never too late to start! Even scars that are many years old can benefit from scar therapy. If you're unsure whether you're ready, just get in touch and we can chat.

Similar to C-section recovery, you can begin scar therapy once your scar is fully healed, which is usually around 6–8 weeks after surgery. Every recovery is different, so if you have any concerns about timing, please contact me and I'll be happy to advise.

Your first session will begin with a chat about your scar, your recovery so far, and what you're hoping to achieve. The treatment itself is gentle — I'll use specialist massage techniques on and around the scar area. Many clients find the sessions deeply relaxing. You'll also receive guidance on self-care and home massage techniques to continue your progress between sessions.

Every scar and every person is different, so there's no one-size-fits-all answer. Some clients notice improvements after just one or two sessions, while others benefit from a course of treatments. After your first session, I'll be able to give you a better idea of what might work best for you.

Absolutely! The clinic at Newbold-on-Stour has easy pushchair access, private waiting facilities, and a spacious treatment room with plenty of room for your little one. If your baby needs feeding or comforting during the session, that's perfectly fine.

Pregnancy massage is suitable from your 2nd trimester (after 12 weeks) onwards. It's a gentle, relaxing treatment specifically designed for the changes your body goes through during pregnancy. If you have any medical conditions or complications, please check with your midwife or GP first.

I have two clinic locations in the Cotswolds: Newbold-on-Stour (Chapel Lane, Stratford-upon-Avon) which is open on Tuesdays 9am–2:30pm, and The Body Barn in Ebrington, Chipping Campden. Both locations have parking available.

You can book online through Fresha — just head to our Book page and choose your preferred location. You can also get in touch by email at revivescartherapy@gmail.com or via Instagram @revive.cotswolds if you'd prefer to chat first.

I kindly request at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows the slot to be offered to someone else who may be waiting. Late cancellations may be charged. I understand that life with little ones can be unpredictable, so please do get in touch if something comes up.

Yes! Gift vouchers are a lovely way to treat someone special. Please get in touch via email or Instagram and I'll be happy to arrange one for you.
